What fans to buy as replacements for my liquid coolant systems?

My computer is extremely loud yet it's liquid cooled with a closed loop system. My GTX Titans have g10 kracken brackets on them and they're loud. What fans do people recommend I replace them with for better efficiency? Thanks a lot.

Solution

The fan in that picture is just for the VRMs. GPU cooling is taken care of by the water block. Switching out those fans may result in a quieter system, but it won't affect GPU temperature.

@mcnumpty23

On amazon it reads 92mm:
https://www.amazon.com/NZXT-Technologies-Kraken-Bracket-RL-KRG10-B1/dp/B00ITTFO8M/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t
I was thinking of maybe getting this to replace it:
https://www.amazon.com/NF-A9-FLX-Premium-Quality-Computer/dp/B00NEMG9B0/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1479069611&sr=1-2&keywords=noctua+92mm

Is that possible/recommended? Speed control them? What for?

@banker

My friend recommended noctua as well. There's so many options to choose from and I've never ordered fans before, I always used the ones that came with my hardware. Which would you recommend for the kracken x31, the kracken bracket g10 and the H115i?

thanks a lot

@mcnumpty23 I'm assuming they're speed is justified for cooling. I wouldn't want to slow them. I was thinking a faster quieter fan would be the answer to better performance and noise? There are so many different noctua fans listed. I'm confused which would fit my hardware and which would give the best performance and noise since I've never bought fans before. Thoughts?

@banker

I think 120mm

no the speed might not be justified for cooling---depending on 1.how fast they are actually going and 2.whats the temperature

before replacing them i would look at what your temperatures actually are it might actually turn out you can reduce the speed and noise for little cooling loss

Just to make clear of something, those fans are better than the fans on my x31, right? What specs should I be focusing on?

I mainly want my system to run more cool. My graphics get up to around 50c. I'm looking for all-around efficiency and I just feel like my ultra-loud liquid cooled system is somehow wrong and needs better fans

I can feel heat coming out of the top of my pc. Sure, that's normal but I'd feel most comfortable reducing the heat in my pc with better fans and perhaps with that I can overclock. My question is, are noctua fans all-around more efficient for cooling, better than the ones I currently have?

i would expect the noctuas to be better

but i wont think they will lower the temperature of the gpu

will they be quieter?

possibly but since dont know the speed and db level of your current fans nor how fast the noctuas will be running its not possible to say yes they absolutely will be quieter

your gpu is good to around 90c

you are getting 50c

its just common sense that if you turn down the fans even if it rose to 60c it wouldnt be even in the same ballpark as running hot

That's literally the point of a cooling system, to remove heat from components and exhaust it from the case. The power consumption, and therefore heat generated, by your cards won't change by getting a different fan, so you're going to have the same amount of heat coming out of your case.

good point TJ sort of what i have been saying

though i got a bit confused there thinking they meant fan on the radiator forgetting it has one over the vrms

same still applies in my opinion lower the fan speed

but its their money if thats what they want to do gave my opinion its up to them if they want to take it

These are some great and very useful answers and some great things I hadn't considered. This is a great community for information. I guess I'm just not used to my computer sounding so loud. I might consider the noctua fans for quieter performance but not before attempting to adjust the speed of my fans. Thanks a lot for your help
