Here's the story.. My PSU fried my mobo, and as such I needed to buy a new $150 PSU (750W) and a new mobo.. in total, I think it'll run me 300+tax.. my current build is:
msigtx 770 lightning
i5-3760K 3.4ghz
16gig ram

At this point, I started thinking.. I might as well get a 6th gen mobo, an i7-6700K, and evga gtx 1070 ftw.. Everything plus a 1440p 144hz monitor will be $1800 (so an extra 1500 opposed to fixing)

aA 1070 doesn't seem very future-friendly though, as 1440p witcher 3 and crisis 3 both drop below 60fps on ultra.. A gtx 1080 would be an extra $400 for an average gain of 15fps..

Thoughts? I've never seen 1440 or 144hz.. is it worth it?

Here is what I can come up with. Use your old drives and this should make you a killer new system. Im going to stay clear of the EVGA until I know for sure all the fire issues are taken care. This is a white on black theme build.
