I have heard rumors that the Haswell-E proceessors 5820k, 5930k, and 5960x can actually support more RAM than stated on the Intel website. Supposedly they support up to 64gb ram normally but on 128gb ram motherboards they can support 128gb ram. Does anyone have any input on this?

Yep. X99 boards support up to 128GB. My Z170 board supports to 16GB per DIMM. May depend on the motherboard though. That would be complete overkill though.

Until you start firing up VMs. Then there's never enough memory.
