Hi everyone. I am planning to buy the I3-6100($112) and Gigabyte GA-B150M-HD3($88) for the mobo. Currently, my budget is only $200 and I'm just wanting a slight upgrade for my system. Now, Is it worth it to buy these parts? I am not really knowledgeable in setting up a good gaming system that's why I need your suggestions and advice on what is more efficient to do.

Current specs:

Kingston-ValueRAM-1333MHz-KVR1333D3S8N9-2G (2x2GB)
AMD Athlon ii X2 250 3.0Ghz
ECS MCP61M-M3 v2
Asus Geforce gtx 960
Corsair VS450

Since my RAM is also quite old, I might be upgrading it altogether so it would be also compatible with the mobo I'm planning to buy. Should I go for a cheaper mobo to be able to buy a newer RAM? I'm also not sure if my current RAM is compatible with the B150.

Please, any advice and help would be appreciated. Thank you!

In fact, I just ordered an i3-6100 and that same MSI mobo yesterday. However you should be aware that the price of that mobo will go up $10 after tonight. It was $10 off due to a weekend sale. I did my research, and it...

If You buy the cpu and mobo, you will HAVE TO buy DDR4 Ram. The i3-6100, a new mobo, 8gb of DDR4 RAM, and your current gtx960 will make a pretty nice and well balanced gaming machine! Buy a mobo for around $50 or less (no need for anything fancy with overclocking capabilities, etc.), and buy a single stick of ddr4 2133mhz or 2400mhz (which will downclock itself but sometimes cheaper) 8gb ram.

Thank you for the quick response, guys. I have looked into the reviews of the MSI mobo, and it does seem like a good mobo. Hell I might be buying it later after work. I really appreciate the help guys. Thank you again! :) :)
