Hi all,

This is the previous thread with issues I am encountering: http://

I thought I would do a thread revive on this in hopes of getting some additional advice now that I have tried another component change. Going from 2x2GB to a singular 1x4GB stick, it is an 8gb kit, but running 4gb for testing.

The system is still having issues. I just swapped out 2x2gb DDR3 sticks of RAM in the system for some RAM a friend gave me to try out. Which is a 2x4GB, however I am just running the 1x4gb at the moment for testing.

The system booted fine after a little tinkering, however, problem still persists. Had YouTube running on the system, then the sound dropped out and the system began to lag then finally BSOD - Critical Process Died.

This is beyond a pain in the ass. The only last thing to try is to swap out the motherboard.

Any advice?

if all your parts work then by process of elimination its the motherboard.

did you try using different mouse/ keyboard/ USB slots..... I've had systems crash by bad mouses and keyboards.

definately seems like its hardware if you've redone all the drivers.

Hi,

Have tried different USB slots. It is my Dad's PC, he is playing a game now, and he just said the keyboard stopped working. The lights go out to indicate this. Yet the system still works, and the mouse is still functioning. Sometimes can unplug and plug the keyboard back in and it will work, other times require a restart of the PC to get it to operate again.

He has been gaming for a few hours now, but normally what will happen upon exiting a game, the system will BSOD, or Freeze requiring a restart.

get a cheap motherboard at like wallmart or something; see if it does the same thing... or if you have another laying around. most trouble shooting is using other systems or other parts to see if the symptoms stay with changing parts out.

Well that is the last component to really swap out is the motherboard. I'll give what you said a try, can't hurt. However, quite a trip to get to Walmart haha I am Australian, so. Either way, hoping motherboard fixes it. Everything else has been replaced. Ram, hdd with an ssd, PSU, GPU. CPU should be fine regardless.

Frustrating!

Decided to buy a new motherboard today, here is hoping it sorts out everything. If not, I think that whole system will be taking a trip off the balcony onto the pavement.
