Hello, everyone!

I have simple, quick question!

Does CPU's temperature affects overclocking result?

My system is

CPU : i5-4690K
CPU cooler : Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
MB : Asus Z97-A

When I overclock my cpu using provided overclocking tool from Asus, it sometimes goes up to 4.5Ghz but it crashses sometimes when I play game but there was a time when cpu overclocked to 4.2Ghz and stays somewhat safe.

If I change my cooler to(for example) AIO water cooler, will this help my CPU to stay at 4.5 Ghz after overclock and doesn't get blue screen often?

Thank you!

Have you researched OCing at all?

Of course it does, higher temps = higher resistance = higher voltage required to maintain a constant current.

Research then OC, not the other way around, the OCing tools will OC will a combination of Bclk and Multiplier, with a lot of voltage, the voltage will create heat, the bclk will create instability.
