hi i play World of warcraft and when the game is open it feels like its using all the ram , sometimes i need to minimize the game for example to search something on google but when i try to open google chrome it takes a long time and everything else is also frustratingly slow

system:
gpu 7750 gddr5 1gb

4gb 1066 ram (2x 2gb) corsair

Cpu AMD phenom II x4 940 3ghz~

other than GPU my system is really old

when system is idle and nothing is open i use 1.2 gb of ram

when i open the game an log in then go back and check the ram usage
in the task manager it says 3.6 gb in use

while in the processes tab Wow.exe is using exactly 1.6 gb of ram that makes it 2.8 gb total

it feels like games i reserving the ram and i dont know how to fix it basically computer becomes useless for anything other than playing the game unless u close it

BTW i ran the windows memory check and there is nothing wrong

You have a low end system, so you should expect slowdowns when you run a game and do something else.

4 GB of RAM is not enough to multi task while gaming.

If you don't have a solid state drive, getting one would help with opening programs also since the page file will be on a much faster disk and it will be faster in general.

There is nothing wrong with the memory. Its WoW that actually uses that much ram.
Get more ram or upgrade PC.
Currently to play WoW without hiccups most of the time you need 8gb ram, for perfect play 16gb(not counting other hardware).
Most of the current MMO's do need that much memory.
Its vast open areas need a lot of ram.
