My current 4 year old pc, can't keep up with the AAA games at all, probably runnign them at around 30 on medium or low
I play wow on high at 30, but cant get any higher and overwatch around the same as well
I want to play probably most games at highest 1080p at 60, wondering if an upgrade is worth it then to build one

Specs
Amd Fx 4100
hd radeon 6670
8gb ddr3 ram
asus motherboard
500w psu

I have a budget of around 1.5k AUD
and the prices for parts around here are really expensive.
I have looked up possible builds from scratch like this one i came up with, http://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/s9fVD8
which is probably more because some sites are dodgy and are out of stock.
PCCASEGEAR prices compared on similar build is around 1.5k without monitor.

Would be great if i can know whether to upgrade or build from scratch, and possible builds if so

Solution
I would consider a new build, your current cpu and gpu both need updated to get 60fps @ 1080p in most current AAA games. A cpu upgrade likely means a motherboard upgrade etc so you're well into a sizable overhaul. Depending on what psu you have and how old it is you might be able to reuse it unless planning to sell off your old pc as a complete unit.

If going with an h110 motherboard there's no advantage to spending a premium on the 6600k, the k series cpu's cost a bit more since they're unlocked for overclocking. Either pair it with a z series board to overclock or stick with an h110, b150, h170 board and go with a locked cpu like the i5 6500 and save a bit. If going with a locked cpu there's no real need for the aftermarket cooler...

If going with a locked cpu there's no real need for the aftermarket cooler either, they come with a stock cooler (where the 6600k does not) and should be decent enough to keep a locked cpu cool while gaming.
