I5 6500 overclocking

I read a lot of things about overclocking i5-6500 but most of them are at least half years old, so I want to know is it still fine to overclock 6500? Will windows 10 shut it down with update or something?
Edit: I know that you need to have "z" mobo, I am planing to buy gigabyte z170 k3

In normal mode the pocessors which got K can be overclocked but in some cases like this cpu we can bring the core clock up about 100mhz to give u about 4.4_4.5ghz in oc mode.so.u can call.it.overclock ! Thats right.

Some bioses on some mobo's allow the OCing of non 'k' processors, most do not. A bad OC can cause windows to crash, but that's why you stability test first before using it for real.
