so i just used coollaboratory liquid ultra on my delided cpu and i saw a very amazing drop in temps
i tested my temps b4 applying coollaboratory liquid ultra and i got 89c temps
but after applying coollaboratory liquid ultra inside my cpu i got a drop of 30c
3 cores never seen 60c and one core reached 62c
and iam satisfied with the results but i was wondering if i can squeeze more out of this
by applying coollaboratory liquid ultra on the heatsink , is that fine ? i heard that it could damage it , btw i have nh-d14 cooler
i7-4790k 4.75ghz at 1.27V
and iam using mx 4 on the heatsink

I suspect you are talking about using coollaboratory liquid ultra between processor and heat sink. It's not good to use it on aluminum heat sinks as it may just glue it badly. Nickle or chrome plated only. It also may erase lettering on the CPU although it didn't on my AMD processor. I had it on for a while but there was no appreciable temperature drop from AC paste and it's difficult to apply properly. Just use some good paste like NT-H1 and you'll be just fine maybe even be better because it's easier to apply.

Ie used the Liquid Ultra 2nd Gen Metal Liquid Pro Thermal Paste Compound on two overclocked i7's.
ie noctua u14 fan one one, and corsair h105 water cooler on another one.
After 20 months they both overheated & crashed. Cpus run hot, but heatsinks no longer very hot. ie cpu at 78c and heat pipes at 39c on the noctua.
intel extreme tuning util stress test gives fail after 2 minutes. Hit thermal throttling at about 85c
I suspected the paste, and tried to remove it. Almost impossible.
no reply from support@coollaboratory.com after 2 days.
Ended up sanding the cpu and noctua. Not fully removed, but this was just a initial test.
put noctua paste on the cpu.
temp now peaked 77c and it past intel stress test.
Does anyone else have similar troubles?
Any idea how to remove the paste?
