So just recently bought some parts used over craigslist, had a friend help me build the pc up, heres the parts first off. Case is a Diypc Cuboid case, Motherboard is a msi a68hi, cpu is a AMD x4 860K, gpu is a gigabyte gtx760, power supply is a corsair cx600m with a 1Tb hdd. I recently upgraded the cpu cooler to a coolermaster evo 212 and had no luck with it at all, installing it seemed to go ok but it can turn about 5 degreese if you try to move the cooler, dosent rock back and fourth though but I read on fourms it seems to he notmal for some, i tightned every screw as much as possible and everything, I added a pea size amount of the thermal paste although seemed to be more than what I needed so i wiped off the tiny bit that gooped over the side, idle temps are about 60c and under load its about 75-79c and sometimes maybe 80c, not sure what the issue is. Thought about maybe dumping the cpu cooler and going for maybe a corsair watercooling loop but just not sure whats wrong even though i dont eant to spend the extra money for a watercooler nor do I have the cash at the moment. If anyone has any input or help, it's greatly appricciated. Keep in mind this is my first pc I built ever.

hi ive got the same problem.. on hwm monitor.... ON AMD OVERDRIve you can have the real temps you need for your cpu, it is a termal margin ... in my case, my cpu got around 55 celcius termal margin idl on overdrive and 40 wile gaming...(on other software ive got 63 celcius idl and 80 when gaming !!!! but my cpu was not hot to toutch)
(to make sure you understand a termal margin is how much degree you are from a dangerous temp (the dangerous margin is 0) higer his good)

i think that temps from mobo or things like hwmonitor are not right for these kind of cpus, (they are made difrent than intel when its time to show temps)

try to toutch your heatsink of cpu wile runing if it is hot.. you sould be ok by watching your amd overedrive...
