So after some thought I decided to stay with my FX 6300 for now and just over clock it. Right now I got a stable 4.6ghz going at decent temps. But now I want to switch to water cooling. Currently I have a CM Hyper 212 Evo cooler with an MSI 970 Gaming MOBO and a NZXT s340 case.
What is the cheapest watercooling kit that can decently outperform my evo? Is it worth it? What do you recommend?

I suggest the H100i for the sub $100 water cooling. The best air cooler is the one I would suggest for your build Noctua NH-D15.

According to PCPartPicker, the NH-D15 does not fit in the s340.

i just want a cooler that will let me overclock my 6300 to a point where it wont be a bottleneck, whether it be air or watercooling idc. As long as it is in the $100 range. I live in the Atlanta area with a microcenter near me so some things are cheaper there if that helps.

The case has a CPU Cooler 161mm and the D15 165mm. Dang 4mm or not even a 16th of an inch. :(

No amount of overclocking is going to make the FX 6300 not be a bottleneck. Sorry mate.

Also, the CM V8 GTS isn't going to fit into your case.

Here's a helpful YouTube video.

I'm in the same boat but fact is only Skylake, Kabylake, or AMD's Zen going to get you there.
