Hello Everyone

I am looking to join the high end audio community. I have had a G930 headset for 4 years and it is starting to fall apart. I got it them I first got into gaming. I am now looking for a new audio equipment and I want to buy headphones instead of a headset. So as to for now only focus on the audio I am hearing. i'll find a mic later. I am thinking I will buy Bose soundcancelling headhpones, as I will also like to use the headphones ither places than home.

My question is the following:

1. How good is Bose headphones for gaming in terms of surround sound? Is the virtual surround sound any good?

2. Wireless or not? I realise a lot of people in the audio community will proberly say cable so there is less interference, but again I find the wire annoying at times. So is there a clear difference between wireless and cable in case of the Bose headphones?

Tanks in advance

Virtual surround sound sucks, it distorts the sound and nearly no additional directional sound over stereo, Id say good stereo is better. For gaming the difference between wired and wireless (Bluetooth) is negligible but for music I can tell the difference, wired is noticeably better. Many don't like Bose sound but I really like their headsets and their noise cancelling is amount the best.

The problem with high end audio is personal taste plays a big part, what one person loves another will hate. You need to try a headset for yourself on a high quality recording you know well.

For future research, do you know a good website with a good startup guide, that explains the different terms used around audio and how to choose a new setup?
