So I recently built my first computer, and so far everything is going really well, huge performance upgrade in the few intensive games I actually play.

But there's a hiccup, whenever the tower get's bumped, tipped, or even when a plastic cup falls on it, the computer immediately shuts down or freezes for a moment and restarts.

I have reseated a couple components but I'm a little hesitant about taking this apart after the entire day it took to get it working.

It's not that big a hindrance but I do not want my new PC to just shut off in the middle of a game or something, help would be appreciated.

Parts:
CPU: Intel Core I3 6100
GPU: Evga gtx 1060 3gg
Ram: 1 stick of Crucial ballistix sport 8g
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-A
Storage: 1tb wd blue
PSU: evga 500w

Solution
First, I would try taking out & putting the RAM back in, as well as the cpu and gpu. If that doesn't help, then make sure that you have the correct motherboard standoffs in.

Something on the board isn't making a solid connection. When my friend has this issue, it was one of his RAM slots. It was a Gigabyte motherboard as well.

If you want to pinpoint the issue, though it's not the best way too. Take off your side panel. Start computer...touch each of the RAM sticks...does it shut off? That's where your problem lies. Double check all power connections are firmly in place.

Well, I tried touching the ram, and the computer stayed operational. I then turned off the computer and reseated the components and refitted all the cables and then tried a tip test(and dropped the offending plastic up on top of it) and haven't been able to reproduce the issue, so I guess it's fixed now.

I guess there was no point in asking, I knew deep down I'd have to do that I just didn't want to because I didn't want to break anything after struggling to get it together int he first place. The only problem is that because I did all of it in one go I didn't get to pinpoint the problem.

Glad it's fixed!! Although you didn't get to pinpoint the problem, doing it all at once is probably the easiest and after all it worked! :)
