I was Overclocking my 980 windforce edition and I was able to achieve this: http://imgur.com/gmya53h (Ran stable on the Valley Benchmark for 30mins at around 150-160 degrees Fahrenheit.) But whenever my benchmarks crashed because I over shot my core clock or wasn't supplying enough volts I got this message: http://imgur.com/QeKmQaD
At first I blew it off but now I cant open anything that utilizes my GPU, like when i tired launching rocket league. As a little side note I hit Ctrl + Alt + Del whenever my benchmarks crashed. Probably not significant.
Benchmarks used: Heaven & Valley Unigine Benchmarks
Specs:
GPU: Gtx 980 Windforce edition
Cpu: i7 4790k (not overclocked)
Motherboard: Asus z97 Deluxe
Ram: Corsair Dominator 16g (8x2)
PSU: Antec 1000w (platinum efficiency)
Storage: Intel 730 series ssd/Seagate 4tb SSHD
Thanks in advance!

Why a massive 87 increase in mVolts? That's not to be toyed around with, especially for the light overclocking you're doing. If anything, you might see an increase in performance at undervolting below the default mVolts, at such light overclocks. Return that back to default, It's dangerous.

I'd decrease the core overclock by quite a bit and increase the memory.

Did you use a guide?
