Hey guys! new to the forum here, i hope this one hasn't been discussed too many times, although here goes:

I built my system about a week ago.. and paired a brand new set of Logitech Z533 2.1ch to it. listening to audio, there was a staticy/ popping/ lag during listening to music whether youtube, soundcloud, or off a USB. spoke to pccasegear and they suggested a sound card and the motherboard could be faulty (although brand new) so i ordered a Sound Blaster Audigy FX sound card. installed that, AND it made it worse.. installed driver off the disc included, installed the windows 10 driver off their website, still nothing fixed. SOMETIMES, when i start the system, the audio can appear fine, until i open Google Chrome? and it gets so bad.. now;

1 thing i tried, was connecting my logitech z533 amp by 3.5mm to my Samsung 27" curved lcd screen, run it through the Nvidia sound driver (guessing through the HDMI cable technically?) and it is fine! just about nothing wrong that i can hear, although sometimes i think i may hear a very minute cracking.

yes, every time i have tried a different source (onboard/ sound blaster/ nvidia) i have disabled the other drivers and still nothing. i spoke to a guy today at Umart, suggested i try a Ground loop isolator 3.5mm, which i purchased from Jaycar, it didn't help. if anything made it worse, with it plugged inline, turning the volume knob, there is a static noise that gets louder as you turn it up, whereas without it, there is very minimal noise when turning full volume. i have also tried running my speaker system on a different wall socket to my monitor and case, that didn't change a thing. tried moving speakers away, hid 3.5mm from and power cables as much as possible, nada.. although new, i tried a different slot for my soundcard, still no change. tried different 3.5mm cable, nothing but static. tried a rca to 3.5mm to sound card, nothing but static. made sure my motherboard was seated correctly.

I know i can just continue using my monitor/ nvidia driver (HDMI?) as my source, but i would like to know why i am having so many issues and i hate the fact i may have wasted money.

i'm really running shy on options, and i hope i'm overlooking something, please, can anyone help?

I am just trying to think of somthing and the only thing I can think of that might cause somthing like that that I can than think of is earthing on the case the board. I know this might sound extream but I have done it myself the standoff's for the board are all the correct size you do get fractionly smaller screws sometimes. or all of the standofs are not in place or screwed in. just trying too help

Thanks for the advice! I did go through and put different bolts in that were supplied with my mobo last night, with a wider head on them, still no good so I may need to remove the mobo and check the gold extensions are screwed in correctly to the case, will see how that goes. one thing I noticed also, is that when I start the computer, the audio can appear fine, until I open Google Chrome (only program I've tried), and I have tried it with/ without my ethernet connected and it's the same thing, verrrrry bad static
