Hey guys,

I recently bought BF1 for my semi new gaming pc.

I5 4690K
GTX 970 Strix
8 RAM
Asus Z97-A

I run the game more or less flawless but still get some FPS drops when shits going down ingame.
"Can i run it" tells my GPU and CPU isn't meeting the minimum requirements.

Therfore my question - would it help to OC either CPU and GPU (or both), how much (i am new at OC) or should I just turn down the settings and live with it :)

I hope my information is sufficient otherwise just ask me :)

Solution
you're fine
only flaw I find is the RAM
BF1 eats up alot of RAM
when I'm playing (i7-6700k, GTX1070) my RAM hits often up to 9,2GB usage
that's probably causing the drops.

your CPU is more than sufficient.
if your GPU weren't - you can test it by playing on lower graphical settings and see if you're stil experiencing drops.

i've noticed BF1 uses the CPU quite a bit in multiplayer. pretty much more than any other game i play. overclocking would definitely help but i wouldn't dive right in until you're confident you know what you're doing. OC'ing the GPU is a lot easier than doing the CPU so i'd start with that first.

i have a similar setup to you, but i have a 4770k @ 4.3ghz and a 970 OC'ed to 1450mhz. the game seems to run quite well for me at 2560x1080

there have been a lot of posts about FPS drops with BF1, even on high-end systems with Haswell/Skylake core I7 CPUs & GTX 1080s running at 1440p resolutions. Considering that the absolute top-of-the-line systems are having problems, don't be surprised when your system has issues.
