Is storage really a bottleneck anymore, once you get an SSD?

According to several sources, the difference between an SSD and a RAM drive is negligible in real-world performance. Considering the latter is immensely faster and has little effect, does that mean that high-end SSDs just aren't worth it either? Does the CPU always become the bottleneck once you reach SSD-level speeds when loading the OS or a game?

Depends on the task, for average home users any reasonable SSD is good enough. Those that really need the extra speed tend to be well aware of it.
A lot of home users and gamers who can afford it will buy the fastest drive they can lay their hands on because they want to, and will be happy with it.

The rest of us make a choice based on value and needs and would be unlikely to appreciate any value from the extra cost of a high end drive.
I have an 850 Evo M.2 SSD and love it, I would not spend any more for speed reasons.
