Hello,

I got my new computer around last December, (Acer Aspire V15 V3-575T-7008)

and I tried and tested all the functions of the computer, including the USB Ports. However, now I have noticed that one of my PC's USB 3.0 ports, specifically a Powered-USB 3.0, (I believe the distinction is that a powered USB charges things even when the PC is sleeping) has stopped working. I have tried plugging multiple USB drives, both 2.0 and 3.0, but there is no electricity going to the USB drive. I have tried plugging in a wireless mouse, but that does not work either. The Device Manager's USB section seems fine:

I honestly do not know what to do. I have updated drivers using the DriverIdentifier app, still to no avail. Can anyone help me?

This seems odd, @dragonejt!
In this case, I'd recommend you try to resolve the issue by resetting BIOS from the settings in the BIOS interface, since this is a laptop that is still within the warranty period, do not tamper with the enclosure as you will void it. The reset will get all your BIOS settings back to factory defaults, so you might need to re-configure any manual changes you have made there so far.

Let me know how it goes.

Welcome to Tom's Hardware, @dragonejt!

I suspect that these drivers might not be genuine. Your best source for such utilities is the manufacturer's official website. Find your laptop's model there and usually under Support/Downloads, you should be able to select the current OS version that you have installed and then see all the drivers & utilities available for the laptop model. Windows Updates tend to install more generic and a bit outdated drivers that could cause such compatibility issues with external devices/peripherals.

Hope it helps. Good luck! :)

The driver identifier app only scans my pc for drivers, but it downloads the correct one from the manufacturer's website. I'm pretty sure the drivers are fine, as nothing is listed in device manager, either.

You could have fried the port by overloading it. USB ports have circuitry to protect them against such overloads but it's not impossible to damage them. The software may be unaware of the damage.
