My new desktop PC randomly shut down and now it doesn't turn back on.

I just built my first personal pc (I have built other computers, so this isn't new to me). I built it and everything was good, it ran fine. The day after I build it, I received my Rx 470. I install it, it runs fine, and I even had the chance to try it out on a few games. About an hour later, while simply roaming on the internet, my whole pc shuts off. I unplugged everything (usb, ethernet, power cable, etc) and let it sit for a while, thinking that something might of overheated. I plug the power cable back and the pc wouldn't start. No light at all, just "dead". I removed any unnecessary cables from the motherboard (usb 3.0, audio, etc), tried to start it and still nothing.

I'm not sure if my brand new power supply just died on me and might of possibly killed my motherboard, if my motherboard shorted and took the psu with it or if my gpu somehow shorted my motherboard shorting the psu.

What could it be?

Solution
As the PSU is a new one, then I believe it would not hurt to contact the manufacturer's Support on that. The guys over there should be able to provide some useful info on the matter. :)

Always put up full specs of your system whenever you seek help on forums. Are you sure everything in your system is plugged in correctly? It can be due to overheating but I suspect that your PSU seems to be the culprit here...

Hi D_Know_WD,

I did indeed try to remove the gpu and the pc still wouldn't start.
Here are my specs :
- Intel i5 6500 CPU
- Rx 470 GPU
- Gigabyte H110m-A Motherboard
- Kingston HyperX Fury, 1x8gb Ram
- WĎ 7200rpm 1tb Hard Drive
- EVGA 500W Power Supply
and finaly NZXT s340 for the case.

Thanks for the quick reply:),
