Laptop:
HP OMEN - V7F57AV
BIOS - Insyde F.23

I have Crucial MX300 256GB m.2 SSD. I put it in my HP omen and after doing some disk managements, I was able to show it as a storage drive in my computer. I want to install boot windows OS from this m.2 SSD, but I cannot find it in boot menu. My BIOS does not support advanced settings so I can't follow forum instructions. What do I do?

Solution
Try this. On bootup, press F10 and then QUICKLY pressing the A key (quick succession; not simultaneously). If there's any advanced bios settings, that should get you into it.
If not, not all hope is lost.
In bios, try changing to ACPI, UEFI, Legacy, auto, etc.. Try each one. Even if it won't boot, you're looking to see if there is ANY setting that makes your SSD appear in the boot menu.
If you can get it to appear in the boot menu, but it still won't boot, then you'll probably have to reinstall from scratch. But hey, we got you where you needed to be.

Other than that, here's the Tshooting manual for your laptop.

Go through the Tshooting flowchart on page 4. Let us know what happens.
Hey there, Bala_1.

Check if there's available firmware update for that SSD model. Other than that you could try to update or reset your BIOS/UEFI, to see if that fixes things up. Leave only the M.2 SSD connected to the motherboard and try installing Windows on it, to see if you'd be able to boot properly afterwards.

Hope that helps.
