No, I would buy an AV1200 model because they use MIMO over the power wires and get better speed. Go with THIS ONE or if you want a built in access point on the distant end use THIS ONE and you will get excellent results. It is worth a few dollars more to get the higher rated unit to handle streaming or gaming.

While an Ethernet cable is the best way to connect an access point, it sounds like you have used a pair of powerline adapters. If that is the case, what model did you use? I find that any powerline connectors that are not AV1200 (like a TP-Link PA8010P kit) or better do not work well enough for high bandwidth uses.

If you already have good powerline adapters, insure that no large motors are on the electric circuit very close to the adapters. You can use a short extension cord on things like fans to decrease their interference.

Also, use a different SSID for the access point so that you can select it, as the device may be selecting the distant weak wireless signal.

That is a very old and slow powerline type adapter. You need two, one near the router and one at the far end where you need the signal.

If your budget allows, take a look at the much newer AV1200 powerline adapters, as they are much faster now.
