Hello, friends.

Granddad only plays some light 3d games and browses youtube/email/netflix.

His PC is a prebuilt Acer X1935

Factory Specs:

* Pentium G630 (65W TDP)

* 4GB DDR 3

* ATI RADEON HD 7350 (19W TDP)

* 220W ACER PSU

-----------

I want to upgrade it a bit as a christmas gift so it lasts him a couple more years and is much faster.

Going to:

* Swap the G630 for a i3 2120 (both are 65W TDP)

* Swap the HD 7350 for a GT 710 (Both with a TDP around 20W)

* Add another 4gb Ram DIMM for that sweet dual channel and increased frequency (the g630 only allowed 1066Mhz, the i3 will allow for 1333).

----------

My only fear is the PSU. The form factor on this means a replacement is very unlikely to be found easily, especially where I am (Ukraine).

Can I be sure this build will be powered well enough by this PSU? I think this is a very low-power build but I'd like to know what the experts think.

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for the insight, botcher!

I thought the graphic performance would be similar, but from what I can see from benchmarks, the HD2000 on the CPU would be around 30% worse than the 7350, and the GT 710 would be around 3 times as good as the HD7350 itself.

These iGPUs on the 2nd gen i3's are quite weak.

Do you think that even with the 19W TDP Card the PSU would be more than enough?

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately none of those PSUs seem to be true SFX Format factor. Here is the current form factor: http://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/261652577283-0-1/s-l1000.jpg
