Hello everyone,
I bought recently a Lenovo Gaming Ideapad 700 15", which features as M.2 form factor for SSD.

I talked with the shop assistance and they told me I need a SATA III SSD for my laptop, but on Lenovo site I read something about PCIe.

So I came to you to help me recognize the interface, if you please.
Here's a photo taken recently of my M.2 interface:

As you can see, there's only one peak in the right of the interface. I look on the internet for PCIe and SATA III SSD photos, and PCIe are the ones with only one slope. SATA III has two.
So, I think the interface is PCIe, but I need you o clarify me.

Thank you.

Solution
Most modern M.2 slots will have both PCIe and SATA channels. Some older ones didn't have the PCIe and only had SATA, and there are some SSD's that only have SATA and not PCIe. As a general rule, if it fits it'll work. However only if both the motherboard and the SSD support PCIe will it connect that way.
