Hello, it's my first build and I'm not familiar with overclocking at all and would rather stay away. I know the GTX 1070 G1 has an easy OC mode, does that mean I need an overclocked CPU or a different motherboard? Thanks for any help!

GTX 1070 G1 Gaming, Intel i5-6600 3.3ghz, MSI Gaming Intel Skylake B150 3.1 ATX Motherboard any problems/suggestions with this combo? 16GB ram, 256 Samsung Pro SSD, 2TB HD, Rosewill 750W, and a cooler master fan in a corsair case.

To overclock the GPU you do not need any special motherboard or CPU. All GPUs are overclock-able very easily, either through the motherboard (You require a special motherboard for this), or through software you download off the internet (You do not need a special motherboard for this).

I recomend MSI Afterburner, if you choose to overclock your GPU, but it's not necessary unless you want the best in your games.

No, you don´t need an overclockeed CPU in order to OC you GPU. Your 6600 non K is just fine to OC you GPU, they´re not bonded.

By the way, the Gigabyte 1070 G1 Gaming has it´s own OC software (Gigabyte Extreme Gaming Engine) that already comes with some OC presets (OC Mode, Gaming Mode and Eco Mode) and the Manual Settings as well.

I also have one of this GPU and to be honest never needed to OC it so far, the only thing I changed is the Fan Speed where I chose Turbo Mode, keeps it cool and strong as a horse.
