so i just recently bought the elder scrolls online that requires dx11 unfortunately my computer that was passed on to me has a radeon hd 3870 GPU that only has dx10 so i started looking blindly online for a GPU to replace it but i currently dont have too much money so i cant afford a 970 etc i was just looking for something that would work for now. So i was wondering if any component smart people out there would have any suggestions for GPU's that would suffice.

thanks

Hmm. Looks like you'r right: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3313/session/L2F2LzEvdGltZS8xNDc5MzM0ODY0L3NpZC9WaWFSc1Ezbg%3D%3D

There are some cheap used GPUs around that are DX11 but...

I think that the requirements are outdated as i looked it up and i think somewhere in the updates they removed dx9 support and any time i try to run the game it comes up with an error "Your DirectX version is unsupported. Get Help:
https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/32155" and the link sends you to a support page explaining that the error is to do with outdated dx11

There are some cheap used GPUs around that are DX11 but buying used is risky. I recommend going with a new entry-level gaming GPU such as RX 460 or GTX 1050 for around $100-110.

*Or if that's too much, this refurbished HD 7850 2GB from Newegg - http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-Radeon-HD-7850-DirectX-11-HD7850-DC2-2GD5-V2-2GB-256-Bit-GDDR5-PCI-Express-/291944459777?hash=item43f93eee01:g:cHQAAOSw4GVYLEEl&rmvSB=true

What's your system build? You don't wanna bottleneck.

You might be able to get it close to 60fps if you lower some of the settings.

With an older computer the power supply is an issue. I'd go with a low power card like a 750 Ti if possible. You'd get 2gb vram and it's available in used or new form, which gives you some choice depending on your preferences and budget. The 460s and 1050s are basically only available at new card prices. I'd try to avoid any card that requires so much as a 6 pin power connector.
