I have an Asus K501uw laptop and I bought it 1.5 months ago, so it's relatively brand new. Up until last week my laptop's fan rarely turned on an if it did it was because I had a bunch of Chrome tabs open. Anyways suddenly one day last week I turned my laptop and my fan turns on and its CRAZY LOUD and it stays on the whole duration of me using my laptop, my fan doesn't even turn off when my laptop is idle. So I go to task manager and I see that the speed that my cpu is going is 3.03GHz but the thing is my cpu is clocked at 2.50 GHz so does this have anything to do with why my laptop's fan won't turn off?

Yes most likely because the increased clock on the cpu is making more heat which in turn causes the fans to spin more often.

You do realize he just stated that it's technically clocked at 2.5 but is running at 3 right? So saying it might be at the same speed as always is a really ridiculous response.
