I know this has been asked countless time... I checked some reports from Backblaze, but I'm still confused... It seems like something has changed recently?

So, I wanna ask that which 240G SSD is the most reliable one? And which HDD also.
Many people say that both Intel and Crucial do a good job. But Intel is much more expensive than Crucial to me... And do I really need MLC? Does the life span really increase enough for the price? The most thing I care is the durability, lol! I use the SSD mainly for the C Drive, sometimes I install games on it ,like Skyrim and Fallout since the size of the savegame. I suppose TLC rock well or how come Crucial and Intel use MLC, haha!

Then it's HDD, it seems like HGST is the best choice? But it's kinda pricey~
3TB vs 4TB, who's life span is longer? And Hitachi, Toshiba or Seagate? I bought a 3TB Toshiba early this year, I'm just in panic if it's bad. In Backblaze's chart, although Toshiba seems good, but that's because amount of Toshiba's drive is fewer than others...

I got a 530 Series 120G back in Sep 2013, and a Fury 240G in Nov 2015. I have a Hitachi 2TB in 2011, and it just become so slow that I can only use it as a back up... A Toshiba 3TB earlier this year. The Kingston one is in my laptop as C drive, the rest are in my desktop.

Because I kinda want to buy a new HDD for my laptop made in 2012, the original 1TB HGST is almost screwed. Because when I'm listening the music on that drive, it skips A LOT... I suppose it almost reach the day?

Solution
My Crucial MX drives have been excellent, as have my Toshiba and Hitachi hard disks. The 850 Evo is new to me, but they have an excellent reliability record. I have had 1 WD crash out of many.

My Seagates have been crap...3 returned for bad sectors after <1 year in service each. 3 TB external is going on 3+ years has been reliable to this point.

SSD - Samsung. Intel makes reliable enterprise SSDs, but their Intel 540s is a trash.

HDD - arguable. What is definitely not reliable is Seagate. Probably HGST is the most reliable, but there is no clear leader.

Toshiba and Samsung SSDs have never failed me.

Many people complain about seagate drives, but my 1 TB one is running strong after 3 years. Western Digital is another good brand.
