Hello, I have an Intel i7 6700k being overclocked to 4.4ghz, and it used to be air cooled with an aftermarket cooler, until yesterday when I got the corsair h100i v2, as well as installed corsair link, and even when setting the preference to quiet mode and even further turning down the fan curve, the thing runs very loud when gaming, or even if I do a simple task like click a web page the fans ramp up very loud for 2-4 seconds then come down. I know liquid cooling is supposed to make your computer quieter, but even when sitting idle they are fluctuating consistently. The radiator is top mounted and when I installed the pump I used the pre applied thermal paste from corsair. When I had my old air cooled setup my computer hardly made any noise, I had 2 front mount intake fans, 2 top mount and 1 rear mount exhaust fans. I replaced the 2 top mount exhaust fans with the radiator and added another top mount exhaust, other than that everything is the same. Any guesses is to why they run so loud all the time and are consistently fluctuating? Side note the CPU is 23-26C at idle and never higher than 60C when gaming/full load.

Sorry I don't have an answer, but I just got one of these and installed it on Christmas day. I'm on balanced default now, and things seem to be running at higher RPMs than they need to. If I pick "quiet" or "performance" my fans just cycle up and down constantly. The spin up to full speed, cut back to about 50% and then sound like they stop, and it just keeps on cycling randomly until I pick "balanced" again. Were you able to solve this problem?

On Corsair link, go to "profiles" -> "add profiles" and create one of your liking, Then on "home", double click fan on "corsair h100i v2" window, choose custom on drop down menu and set your fan curve.
