Hey guys, need help with a computer build I found on techbuyersguru.

Here's the link: http://techbuyersguru.com/2000-premium-gaming-pc-build

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K

MOBO: Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero LGA1151

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 8GB G1

Memory: Corsair 2x8GB Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200

Solid-State Drive: Samsung 850 Evo 1TB

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro

Power Supply: EVGA Supernova P2 750W

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U14S

Optical Drive: LG 24x DVD Burner GH24NSC0B

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Flash Drive

Computer uses: extensive 1440p to 4K gaming and extensive video editing

SLI: in the future

Overclocking: in the future

Watercool or fans: open to both

Color scheme: black and white

Peripherals: doesn't need to be included

I'm looking to switch out the Noctua NH-14US because it doesn't match my color scheme and am open to watercooling.

I'm keeping the Samsung 850 1TB due to the price going down by $100 on Newegg on Black Friday.

I'm keeping the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 8GB G1 because the price is currently down $50.

I'm keeping the Phanteks Enthoo Pro due to its size, airflow, and good reviews.

Keeping the i7-600K for obvious reasons.

Everything else I am iffy on. If this is a good build regardless, please confirm this. If not, I'm open to some changes except the ones I listed above.

I'm really wanting a black and white color scheme and would like to avoid needing to dye or paint any parts to achieve this, but would also like only the best components suggested as the PC will be going through extensive field work daily.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut High Performance ..is the best thermal paste

watercooling is useless here ..if you stick on that ..ok

sli setup is not so good ...in somes games you will have lags/stuttering issues
always better to use one only ...but a good one like gtx 1080

the seagate barracuda 3TB is a junk ....if you stick with 3TB go with WD

finally the build i did for you will be the best i think ...except for the evga gpu card since overtemp issues happened
instead of the Noctua look at Cryorig & Phanteks for CPU coolers. they should fit the color scheme.
for video editing 32GB RAM could come handy

honestly the build looks good. buying the parts separately and not via amazon will save you a good deal of cash depending on your location
the Mainboard is a bit overkill imo but a fine board. if you wanted to save a few bucks, that's where I'd start.

Since i just suggested a $2k budget build to a friend for exactly that (4K video editing & gaming) maybe you think it is worth to consider :D

the DARK ROCK TF 67.8 CFM is as good as any watercooling and cheaper
the Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 have HDMI 2.0 for 4K and full equiped like rog hero and cheaper
the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Superclocked Gaming ACX 3.0 is only 29$ higher and have nice black/white theme

nice build badboyrog2.
But EVGA lost some reputation around here. something about lack of VRM cooling in those new nvidia gpus.
I recommend OP some caution.
The x99 will be a far better option for my friend because his appls can fully enjoy the i7-5820K threads.

''Yeah ACX 3.0 should be avoided unless directly bought from EVGA. Otherwise they might sell you one from old stock. I think the ''revision'' features thermal pads to avoid thermal overheating.''

ok thanks! i will take note of that , did not knew that?

Thanks for all the answers, guys! Needed a solution before I started purchasing this coming days before, on, and after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I've decided to go with this build which keeps me just under $2,000 after rebate and yet provides some of the best parts for a enthusiast build.

I'll SLI at some point so I can hit easy 4k without worrying about FPS. Wish I could get the ASUS ROG, but my OCD demands I keep with the white & black theme.

By the way, what would be the best thermal compound and UPS system? This looks to be the best UPS via thewirecutter UPS: APC BR1000G UPS ($121.78 @ B&H).

Thanks for the suggestions, badboyrog2! I think I'll stick with watercooling due to the future SLI setup I'll be running and the fact that I'm just conscientious of the heat despite the full tower ATX case I have. I looked up several written and video reviews on the G1 1080 and found that they performed rather well in multiple games and DX12 testing. I'LL wait for Nividia to add an update or firmware to fix the stuttering; at the moment I prefer playing at 1440p regardless.

I, however, will change the storage to Western Digital due to their better writing speeds and customer service.

Thanks for the thermal paste! Looks good.
