My samsung SSD's speed was amazing when I first purchased, it was literally jumping directly desktop from "starting windows" it was like 2-3 second boot time as far as I remember. However, its now almost same as a normal hard disk, its 250 gb samsung ssd, its in 111th day of purchase. Its started to happen weeks ago before than today, but I decided to post a help thread today in hope I can fix it or its even if fix-able

pagefile disabled from all disks
superfetch was disabled by default when I purchased this
no defragmenting on ssd
all games/programs on my second HDD
I do not have plenty icons on desktop nor a ultra-HD desktop image

I dont know why or how this is happened, but I'd like to get first-day speed again if thats possible,

4790k cpu
16 gigs ram ddr3
700W PSU (I havent purchased a new PSU yet)
AMD R7 370 GPU
ASUS Z97 motherboard

here is the smart values of my SSD
(first numbers are real values, not raw)

Reallocated Sectors Count 0 100 100 10

Hey there, @ImperialCavalry!

I'd strongly recommend you try to resolve the issue by swapping the SATA cable and the SATA III Port where the SSD is connected to the motherboard to check how the SSD will perform then. This could easily be a case of a failed connection or bad cable. However, I'd still recommend you backup your data from the SSD somewhere off-site as well before you proceed with the troubleshooting.

If you have access to another computer, you could also try plugging the SSD there to see how it will perform. I'd also advise you run an SSD-specific benchmark/diagnostic tool and see what the SSD's specs will be there. Posting some screenshots would be really helpful.

You mentioned that you disabled the Windows...

I have the same problem but with a Intel 730. It started for me when Nvidia updated their Geforce Experience a few months ago (about when the GTX 1070 came out). Haven't found a solution other than to revert back to older version, but that doesn't work since the card in that computer is a 1070.

You mentioned that you disabled the Windows Services that could be causing the under-performance issues, but I'd also suggest you check your Resource monitor for any other processes that could be using the drive. Have you considered doing a clean install of the OS and starting from scratch?

Keep me posted with the troubleshooting!

If you run HDTune and your drive is still preforming normally than it's not a SATA cable or the drive but windows itself. I still get sustained 400mb/s+ after windows boots fully. I guess ruling out the drive being the issue is a good starting point.
