POST Screen(s!) "American Megatrends" & Asus looking for incredibleness" show on every startup

Every time I turn on my pc and windows 7 starts and brings me to my desktop, it will show me those 2 splash screen before getting to my desktop. Isn't the POST supposed to be over now that I bult my pc?

Also every startup includes 1 loud high tone siren beep if you happen to know its meaning right off bat.

Yeah it looks very outdated. It's a very basic function that I guess hasn't required any changes with the advancements in hardware up to this point. I guess it's a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" kinda thing. It's funny that you see both a splash screen and a post screen. Usually the splash screen is there to kinda hide the post screen in the background(because it's not visually appealing and modern), and it'll even say on the splash screen which key to press to enter bios or other options. I usually disable the splash screen because I'd rather see the technical stuff in post to see if it says there are any errors during the startup.

Both can be disabled in bios. The post screen normally is skipped if your PC isn't doing its first boot configuration or isn't faulty, but you can force it to not display in bios. I wouldn't recommend it though, since it's the first sign that something isn't right with your computer, like a dying bios battery, some component is unstable, or the time and/or timing is off. Turning on fast boot should skip the splash screen, although actually getting into bios, should the need arise, becomes much more difficult.

But is the POST screen only ever supposed to show when you are still installing drivers until which will neva show again? Is it a first-time thing or a forever-default thing?

As for the other screen i.e. the asus screen i dont know if that is also called a POST screen.

The American Megatrends screen with the text is the post screen, it's not just there before you install drivers. Every time you turn your computer it does the Power On Self Test(post) to make sure that all of the basic connected hardware is functioning. As the other guy said you may be able to skip that screen by enabling "quickboot" in your bios interface, I personally have never bothered enabling quickboot because I always leave my computer on. The Asus screen is a splash screen, most pcs that I've had have had an option in the bios that says "Splash Screen Enable/Disable". Both of these options should be under "boot" or "boot options" or something similar.

It should say among that post text which key to press to enter bios while booting, you only have a second or two to press the key before it moves on to starting Windows. If you do decide to go in there just be sure not to mess with anything, playing with settings in bios can cause big problems. Also if you change the "splash screen" or "quickboot" settings, be sure to tell it to save changes before you exit.
