So considering my limit of spending i am confused with the below Combo to choose from

i5 6500 + GTX 1060 3GB OC

or

i5 4460 or i5 6400 (same price) + GTX 1060 6GB or Radeon Rx 480 4GB OC Edition

The big factor which comes into play is either buy a less costing CPU and a higher GPU or a higher CPU and a less costing GPU

Please keep in mind that i need to build a pc for heavy gaming ,which will also run future games at good high settings ,so basically i need a pc which i can milk out for a few years and game happily

Which of the Combo of the above will be better ?

Thank you in advance

Solution

Performance wise the 1060 3GB, 480, and 470 arent that far apart. The 6600K overclocked would make up a lot on CPU depended games as they run better on higher clocked CPU's. The big plus tho is future proofed CPU as most upgrade the GPU more than once on...

looks like you are having a fix budget, but dude for heavy gaming you need i5 6500(or better CPU) + GTX 1060 6gb (Intel + Nvidia=Happy gaming)
Reasons:-
if you choose i5 6500 + 1060 3gb, it will work just fine but not for so long, what you want. games now a days comes at least 20gb+ and high graphical details.
and for i5 4460 or i5 6400 + GTX 1060 6GB, in this combination problem is CPU, one is from old gen and other lacks speed/performance as compared to i5 6500..remember many of games uses 4 powerful core now and will also in future
i5 6400 + GTX 1060 6GB is also a good combination but not for long duration

Thank you for your advice ,what i can squeeze into my budget is a i5 6600 (not 6600k) and a GTX 1060 3GB
Since you say a better CPU would be the smarter choice then would this above mentioned configuration be suitable
as i have read that GTX 1060 3GB would be better over rx 470 or would rx 470 will be better

What do you say since i can squeeze in i5 6600

Thank you for you input ,after much thinking i can squeeze in some extra bucks and go for i5 6600 but now remains the GPU
Should i go for GTX 1060 3GB since 1060 6GB goes beyond my limitation to spend or should buy a rx 470 instead
Because with me buying a i5 6600 ,rx 480 is well out of the picture

Since as you said for heavy gaming atleast i5 6500 is needed

What do you think ?

6500 is clearly wins when it comes to price/performance..and if you can get 6600 by spending $20-25 extra then go for it. in gaming you won't see much difference between 6500 and 6600
about GPU 6gb is better..spend now and you'll be free from worrying about if you can run a particular game at high settings for at least 2-3 years or may be more

Performance wise the 1060 3GB, 480, and 470 arent that far apart. The 6600K overclocked would make up a lot on CPU depended games as they run better on higher clocked CPU's. The big plus tho is future proofed CPU as most upgrade the GPU more than once on each CPU. Also there is the DX12 issue that the 470 has a greater advantage and will increase over time. Note the DX12 benchmarks.
