As title states, I am the proud new owner of a Giga G1 Gtx 1080 (mostly proud, it does coil whine a little...like 80% of all other 1060/70/80s despite make).

Here is my question...core clock speeds are accurately read - during full boost, it exceeds the factory OC and nearly hits 2ghz (1995mhz), so ill take it.

But when I read GPU Z, memory clock says 1250mhz, and when I enter the sensor tab in gpu, I can see the min, max, etc values. The core clock registers 2ghz max. The memory clock only hits 1250mhz. This I don't understand. The memory clock is advertised at 10ghz, but no where does it say 10ghz. So I figure, GDDR5, so 1250 x 5 = wait, 5k? 5ghz DOES register in HWmonitor - but still, GPU Z shows different results.

So how do they assume a 10ghz memory clock when all I see is 1250mhz. I don't understand how it correlates, especially since the clock speed makes sense. Any insight?
