Whats Going On

I have 2 computers & one is my gaming & the other is just a everyday PC . My problem is that when i go to install my GeForce GTX 660 PCIE video card into my gaming pc "Because the Asus GTX 760 has died as far a i can tell so i go to install my GXT 660 in my gaming PC & it won't even boot up & i have tried everyting to get it to boot up my motherboard in my gaming PC is the ASUS SABERTOOTH 990 8 GB of RAM & a nice Thermaltake GIANT CPU Coolerit's a FrioOCK no soundcard using onboard sound why does the GeForce GTX 660 boot up in my gaming pc & works great in my other pc ???? & when i got my pc from my buddy it worked perfectly & i have known him for many years & he wouldn't cheat me to begin with i was playing DOOM 3 on it & it just shutdown & it's not really booted up since then what could it be going on Oh & my gaming pc has a 20" DELL HDMI both of my video cards has HDMI & this is what i was using & on the other pc i have a old DVI adapter that goes from DVI to the even older VGA plugin & i just can't get it to boot up when it is connected with the HDMI guys .. I am sorry that my question is so long & if there is any mis spelling do forgive me
