Why do I get 5-6MBPS torrent download speed when I have only 1MbPS connection?

I have learned that torrent download speed is sum total of upload speeds of seeds.

I have a broadband connection of 1 MbPs ( b in small case ) which should give me about 120-140kbps speed. Right? And it does. But when I download a file with good amount of seeds I almost always get 5-6MBps (big B) that means 3-4 mins to download a 700 mb file while as per my internet plan I should get 120-140kbps which would take an hour and a half to download the same file.
This led me to believe that perhaps my ISP is being generous by allowing torrent downloads at higher speed than what pay for. BUT..

If I download a torrent file that has average amount of seeds I get normal 120-140kpbs (which is what I should always be getting). I thought that perhaps it's the sum total of upload speed of seeds that is the limiting factor and not my internet connection. But to my surprise I found out that if I change my internet plan from 1MbPS to 2 MbPS , the speed just doubled immediately.. ie. 120kbps increases to 250kbps. While behavior for torrent files that have very high amount of seeds remained the same (5-6MBPS speed).
What is the explaination for this? Why can't I download files with average seeds at higher speed ?

Or it can be that some of the seeders are with the same ISP and the ISP does not have good protocols in place to control their WAN. So you are connecting to another client and your speed suddenly shoots up as you are maxing the hardware speed of your combined connection.

ideally you should get ~128, but some ISPs (mostly local private companies) do allow high speed torrent downloading and YouTube buffering. Can you stream high quality videos with ease?

It most certainly is!
I am just being greedy.
It would be great if I could get higher speeds on torrent files with average amount of seeds and not just torrent files with very high number of seeds. :D

Yes I am able to download youtube videos at high speed as well. Also some other websites which have good bandwidth for example: some of the microsoft sites etc. Other than than I get normal speeds.

I was wondering if there is a way to get the most of of this. I mean is there a way to get high speed downloads for torrent files that have average number of seeds? I know they have seeds enough to provide me with higher speeds. Seeds are not the limiting factor as far as I could tell.
