Is there a way to get more info about a CPU? Here is why I am asking:

I've bought parts to upgrade my PC and I sent them including my case to the service so they can put the stuff I bought together but I am just paranoid for 2 things:

-I wanna make sure the Intel CPU i7 I got works the way it should
-I wanna see if it's the actual i7 that I got not some old one.

I also took a picture of the ID that the CPU has in case that is a possibility to be read once it's in.

I know dxdiag and other stuff I just wanted to know if there is a way to get more info about if the cpu is on good condition and if I have the actual i7 that I bought.

Any answer would be appreciated. Thank you.

The details about the parts are easily found at the Intel site that @faalin mentioned.

As fas as the "performance", if you're talking about verifying that certain features (i.e. HyperThreading) will work or not, it's kind of like knowing whether it will turn on or not: until the parts are assembled & you press the button, you just don't know.

Thank you for that, not what I was exactly looking for but... yea.

Where can I see if my hyperthreading is enabled?

CPU-Z will tell you at the very bottom how many cores and threads.

Also like Eximo said, in task manager in the performance tab it will show 8 graph windows if HT is turned on. If not you will only see 4.

i3 has 2c/4t so it will show 4 graphs
i5 has 4c/4t so it will show 4 graphs
i7 has 4c/8t so it will show 8 graphs
