I got an XBOX 360 a couple days ago (2009, old fat model) and I've had three other ones in the past and never had this issue. Every 3 to 10 minutes my XBOX Live connection will randomly disconnect. It wouldn't be a big deal except that I'm trying to re-download my large games and I keep having to start over. :fou:

It's connected over ethernet, I've got both ethernet and wifi in my house. I was using a ethernet powerline adapter. The internet speeds test as 5MB down when its working so that should be fast enough to maintain connection. I can always log right back in after it kicks me off.

Things I've checked and tried:

  • Using internet connection sharing from laptop instead of powerline adapter.
    Using a different ethernet cable.
    Using a different port.
    Resetting my modem and router.
Making sure uPnP is on in the router settings.
    Clearing the XBOX's Cache.
Deleting my Profile and re-downloading it.

And probably a few other things I can remember, Any ideas? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. :wahoo:

If you can that is what I would test or even buying a 50' cable (or longer) and try running it direct just to see if that is the problem. However I have an older X360 fat style and I had no issues downloading over a poweline adapter though this was like a 1-2 years ago I have see moved and have a strait wired connect to switch that is plugged into my router.

No, because the router is downstairs on the other side of the house. I only tried the powerline and ICS over my laptop.
