Hi, I'm looking for suggestions or feedback with RGB illuminated keyboards and mouse pads.
I've done some research on these keyboards:
CORSAIR'S STRAFE, K70s
RAZER'S BLACK WIDOW/X, DEATHSTALKER

mouse pads
CORSAIR'S MM800 POLARIS
RAZER'S FIREFLY

I'm currently using a CoolerMaster Storm keyboard and for mousepad i have a soft MM200 as temporary pad
I prefer matching pad+keyboard, otherwise I'd be looking at more rgb keyboards. That being said, if there is a good keyboard or pad on its own i'd like to hear about it.
i would prefer something quiet as well but not a huge must. Deathstalker on the list but not too sure about how comfortable it is to game with that.

I really like the keys on the strafe. also like the usb and jacks on the original black widow.
wrist rest for kb/mouse would be nice also but not necessary.

concerns are: prices of these rgb pads are about 2x more than its non rgb. so what is the average lifespan of these gaming pads?
difference between mechanical keyboards and switches.

Somehow a tactile (Cherry MX blue or brown) key boost my gaming sense better than clicky key.
  • 4 You
    ■Razer blackwidow ultimate + vespula
    ■ K70 Rapid Fire (MX Speed) + mm800
MTBF of RGB mousepad, vendor not specify.
Mech and switch, cherry MX keyboard has 50 millions actuation life span.

K so I'm actually quite pissed off.
Long story short, I bought the Razer Firefly and turns out this pad is not flat.
I can SEE IT, FEEL IT, and you wont believe when I say I can HEAR IT.

after all the time looking up on this item and reviews I didn't see this come up once.
I have the razer naga and razer deathadder elite (which i just bought 5 days ago)
I play hardcore diablo 3 so i was testing it out and holy F6ck there were spots all ever the mat where it doesnt register movement or skipped.

this is my first hard surface gaming mouse and this is not acceptable. such a waste of time i just want to return the pad and the mouse for wasting my time.
shoulda just gone to corsair or just make my own.

I would get a Razer Destructor 2. or another hybrid pad.
its works for optical and lazer... deathadder and naga.
And your keyboard... do you know what kind of switches you like? thats first.
then how many keys and what brand...
they all come in rgb, dont trip...

there loud .
tactile switches are louder.
they sell o rings for your key caps helps with some noise (shortens the throw).
membrane has its place...
on your desk, if you really spill sh!t that much or in the trash.
in my opinion...

no i dont know what keys i like.
ive never spent much on keyboards so thats why im posting.
my current is a coolermaster devastator blue

i should try the demo keyboards in store to have a better feel
but so far i clicked the razer ones and i dont like the sound.
i might check out the logitec 910 the keys look cool.
but it all comes down to the feel and sound.

also yes i know they pretty much all come rgb.
thats not the concern. its the presets and customization that matters.
thats why i went to razer because of the profiles and ability to create profiles

that 910 is a great board, Romer G switches all the bells and the whistles for 90 bucks. the Romer g switch is tactical and will make noise some people love/ hate the keycaps just something to consider.

a board made to be quiet

razer, corsair, logitech they all have software... my 50 dollar rgb80 has 5 profiles i can launch programs macro sh!t change colors, cycle, breath, bla bla. Point being its going to be harder to find a mech board without software than with.

thx for the post, yeah ive looked into the strafe.
nothing in the market really stands out for me at the moment.
Ive really stretched out to different brands including G.SkillsKM780 and the ROG Claymore.
it all comes down to extra features and software/profile management.
after all this researching i might end up just getting a razer just because i know the software can provide the profiles i want. just not enough ppl with information on these other keyboards
