Hi, ive been attempting to get a 20 metre LED strip light to go around the top of a room in my house for months although until now i only just worked it out... I think i was wondering if anyone would know if this would work by putting 2 10 metre strips (Or 4 5metre strip) and connecting them to one plug with this splitter kind of idea? Another problem is that the socket on the roof is a round pinned one too... any help?

Solution
No. Does not work like that.

Stay with the recommended voltage for the LED strips.

And the power source for the LED strips must be matched to the AC power source being used.

Your best approach is to "follow the rules" (i.e., specifications, installation guidelines, etc.) and see what happens.

If the light strips do not work as expected then it is likely that something is wrong.

Then that specific problem can be addressed. Details matter.

Sort of like this product?

Further down the link they show various combinations/connections using RF Dimmers and DS Splitters. Plus snap on type connectors.

The splitter you show would probably work but I would not use it. You just do not know the actual quality or durability of the splitter beyond its intended use.

Stay with the accessories etc. offered by the manufacturer of the current 20 metre LED strip light. Besides if there is some problem with the lights all involved manufacturers will just blame the other guy.

As for the "socket on the roof". More information is needed: Is that an AC outlet or something else?

Ok yeah like that, my concern about a 20 ,metre was them either getting to hot at one end, or being dim nearer the end, i dont think anyone here can help with that. i assume if i wanted to plug 2 strips into a dc plug like that i would need a higher voltage plug???
