So, ive asked this question before but never got a straight answer.
Is it possible that i can get a new cpu with the stuff i have in my pc? becouse when i look at reqs of games it says that the only problem is my cpu
'

My Graphics card: amd r9 270x dual-x 'sapphire'
Ram : hyperx 2x 4
cpu/proccesor : AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 ghz
motherboard : amd m4a79xtd evo

I have windows 7 if that matters

I do know that the stuff in my pc is very bad, but it runs the games i want to play, the only problem seems to be the cpu going to 100% usage in most games when my Graphicscard and ram is able to run the games and its only the cpu holding them back

Solution
That's all free stuff.

just be mindful to read when you install. they trick you into third party programs. No biggy if you get tricked. you can just use revo unistaller... just try not to get tricked with installing stuff to your browser. I don't want to explain that. lol

There isn't all that much better CPUs you can go for with that socket. You could try the AMD Phenom II X6 Black 1100T. But your looking at such a small increase that it wouldn't be worth the money at all. You might be better off looking at getting a new mobo and CPU.

I agree with the above poster, there is not much of an upgrade path for you on the AM3 platform none that would be worth the money anyway. I would reccomend you save up for a switch to a modern intel platform, in the meantime maybe try overcloking. Those Phenom X4's overclok pretty well from what I remember and that motherboard will handle an OC no problem

So... Im just a normal gamer kid at the age of 15, i dont know much about the stuff inside the computer but i master everything on it, is there any guide to what to get? i have a pretty tight budget and this pc seems fine atm its just the cpu that sucks, it could maybe be because the cpu is very old?

That CPU is comparable to gen 2/3 intel I3.

did you overclock it to get a boost out of the cpu? do your own research for needing more cooling. and if your PSU can handle it.

to me the graphics card looks a little aged.

you must be trying to play the latest games.... kind of need a newer computer...

I dont know how to overclock it....

i do run the new games SMOOTH... the ones that dont really require much of cpu and more graphicscard.... the new game squad runs smooth 80fps on epic, arma 3 runs good, not in modded cause that require a good cpu.
i did play ark at one point and that ran high on 60fps but with a slow mouse reaction meaning''lag''

hmmm, games like total war run fine... but in bigger battles i lag cause of... cpu...
gta runs great ultra... runs on 80% use with cpu... if ive got skype open it hits 100% and makes the game lag
rust runs good aswell on high but fucks up when cpu is required

You can clean up the rig software wise to get a little boost.

New windows fresh install. If not that then:

Ccleaner
Malwarebytes
Adwcleaner
NPE
antivirus scan
Revo Uninstaller
Wise care 365
Auslogics defrag

so... start/run: type "msconfig" go to startup tab and turn off all the programs you can run manually when you need them.

run Ccleaner; do a scan and a registry scan; then goto tools and turn off start up programs if you see any(like the msconfig---- leave drivers alone; if your anti virus lags you you can turn that off if you keep off web browsing.) also turn off and disable stuff in your webbrowsers.

Malewarebytes; run it; then after first scan do a custon scan with rootkit tab checked.

Adwcleaner download from bleepingcomputers.com

NPE= Norton Power Eraser---- free download from norton.... run it for rootkitscan.

do your anti virus scan... assuming you have one...

Revo Uninstaller..... find stuff you don't need and run the scans after your initial uninstall--- they leave stuff behind. this also finds unwanted programs you may not know you have.

Wise care 365 is a decent all in one scanner and cleaner.

Auslogics is a free defragger.... many out there but thats what i do.. defrag and optimize.

thats pretty much it.... unless you want to check drivers.

Iobit driver booster(uninstall with Revo Uninstaller after using)
Intel driver utility
Advanced System Care from IObit(uninstall with Revo Uninstaller after using)

if you don't want to do the driver programs..... you can get the latest drivers from your motherboard site.
