ASUS gtx 1060 dual or ASUS RX 480 strix

Which of the above would give better performance for a 1440p 60hz monitor, and are microcenter open box graphics card trustable/good? I can the strix is on sale for $235 there, about 10$ cheaper than what I can get the gtx 1060 for.

for 10 dollars it is a tough situation. if you are willing to OC, then you might want to get the strix, as it has a very good VRM (generally better overclocking). after some overclock it will beat the 1060at the same time you could spend $10 more and then overclock on top of that. are you an overclocking enthusiast? if not I would get the 1060.

yes the 1060 will beat it at stock speeds by a bit. I would avoid open box, if it was opened and returned even if it looks brand new, chances are, there is a decent reason why such an act was committed.
