Is difference between DDR3-1330 and newer that big?

I'm asking this question because I was wondering whether to stay loyal to 1330 and my current motherboard or just invest and switch to faster frequencies.
Would the difference between, let's say, DDR3-1330 and -1866 (or even -2133) noticeable?

I have 4GB of said RAM and interested in having twice as many.

Thanks for any advice.

All depends on what you do and how you do it. Some apps and even games like faster DRAM, also if you multi-task (have more than one program open) faster DRAM will speed things up from the greater bandwidth and ability to do more at a time

So why would they offer this wide range of frequencies? And most importantly, why would they invent them in the first place?
