Can we bring it back from the dead?

Hi i am here today with a rather stupid problem that could easily be avoided ...

i have or had a gtx-780 and i did not have an 8 pin connector so
i plugged 1 by 1 the yellow 12 volt and black cables in to it...

it worked fine but one day i had to move the card to another pc and forgot the configuration of the cables so …

in the top right corner of the 8pin i plugged another yellow instead of a black ...

here
http://prntscr.com/d99cwe

http://prntscr.com/d99gjr

No smoke came out the gpu, the fun just topped out at 100%

I see my mistake and i am like -_- IDIOT

I change it with a black to the correct config and .... Nothing the card is not recognized by windows

I tried to flash the gpu bios in case , that was damaged... but not even the bios can recognize the card as a video adapter to flash it ... :(

The card every time I start my pc runs for 2 sec and then powers down

To my knowledge i burned my card an no oven solution or magic can bring it back but you might know of some spells

If not can i change any parts of it or put the chip to another board or something ?
i sound like a noob i know and i did a stupid thing an adapter costs less than a $

But if you know anything that can help my situation plz come forward with it I am desperate!

Thank you in advance !

Judging by the issue, there's possibly on a few fuses or diodes that are broken... At worst, you main chip is toast.

Unless you're tech savvy, or know someone who is, and you're willing to test with a multimeter for broken fuses or the likes, I'd think about getting another card....

Hmm....[strike]another yellow instead of a black....you do realize it needs all yellows where you connected that?
(correct pinout)

^^; That pin was the only one that was in the correct side. Hence why the card broke.
[/strike]
You connected it in reverse. There's no fix now....

Burned to the hell men, you only needed a cheaper adaptor at least.

well i guess you are right ..and one would think that these cards would have a fail switch to prevent this from happening but in the other hand it was the MAIN POWER ....and lets be real there is no possible way one would do such a stupid thing as i did the first time but failed the 2nd ... :/ well thank you all for your answers i will try to repair it or at least try... and god bless the queen !!!

xD I wish you luck. The GTX 780 is still a great card. Seeing it go like that would be a shame.

There's no such thing as a fail switch for reversing voltages. The diodes will short out and the fuse will break, that's the security. ^^; But on a card such as this....the fuses and diodes are hard to access usually. There's a good possibility it can be repaired, if it actually HAS diodes and fuses....xD
