Just building a new computer and don't keep up with the times enough to know if certain parts are better with others and thought I would ask you guys. I was also curious as to what you guys thought about the heat sink as I usually just stick with stock. Aiming to keep the price tag around $2000 but willing to jump around for good reasons and let me know if I am missing anything too, thanks!

What is the purpose of this build? If those parts add up to be near $2000, that is an extremely poor value. You should at least have a GTX1070. You could probably get an i5 6600k instead and a much cheaper Z170 motherboard and case.
