I've been out of the hardware loop for a while and just decided to give my youngest son my old setup to play spore and minecraft on, and will be starting fresh with a few parts coming with me for the new build. I currently have..

1x Windows 7 key which I plan to upgrade to 10 for dx12(unless you guys think that's a bad idea)

2x 250gb Sony SSD drives

1x XfX RX 480 8gb OC custom backplate addition graphics card (will be buying a 2nd to xfire eventually when they hit 150$ range.)

1x EVGA 650 watt power supply

So what I'm basically trying to do is stick all this ^ in to a new ...

1x Tower case that is small and portable(ish) yet can hold 2x full size graphics cards and whatever MB you stellar ladies and gents are going to recommend me..

1x Mb/Processor/Ram combo which fits in said small portable(ish) case and can support the eventual xfire of another RX 480 at some point down the road.

max budget is 300$

If anyone happens to know of a good deal on something similar to any of those things or maybe even all of them I'd love to hear your thoughts. I've honestly tried doing my research on my own but between dx12,vulcan,dx11,windows 7, windows10 all being utilized differently on different hardware now adays, I just want to hear some thoughts of those who have been keeping up on all this. I also understand that this (budget gaming rig) question has been asked and is searchable on this site, but in looking through many of those, I am finding that there is so much variation in specific hardware, and since I am bringing some things to the table that I already own, especially the amd gpu, it would be best to list my hardware specifically.

I have a few ideas in mind but every time I buy something Im sure is the best deal, I seem to be finding something better for less a few days later so I thought maybe it would be best to check with the pros first.

Thanks very much in advance and I am sorry ahead of time for my ignorance.

Solution
Instead of an i5-2500 get a current i3-6100 along with an 1151 motherboard. There is 0 need for a second RX 480 in the system for years, and especially not for Minecraft even at the highest settings. Will be well in your budget.

So after doing a lot of reading and checking prices, Im pretty set on buying an intel core i5 2500 3.3ghz processor since I can get a used one with a good warranty for only 70$.

So.. really what I need to know is this.. With this processor, does anyone have a suggested motherboard that is relatively cheap, can xfire 2 rx 480s and will take a LGA 1155/Socket H2 chip?
