Can my PSU be compatible with GPU

hi i bought a MSI GTX 1060 6gb gaming it uses a 8pin power connector, but my psu does not have it. am i able to use a 6pin to 8pin adapter?

here is my old PSU: Ultra LSP Series V2 550-Watt Power Supply - ATX, 6x SATA, 2x PCI-E, 20/24 PIN,Thermal Controlled 135mm fan, Single +12V Rail, Short Circuit, Over-Voltage and Thermal Protection,

hey dude i was doing some research it says as long as you have a 2x 6pin the adapter to 8pin should be fine. my old gpu was a PNY NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 OC 2GB i had to use 2x 6pin so i hope this work what do you think

ok lol im scared ill try it. I will be getting a new psu before the end of this year also, i just cant wait.
