So I think I haven ignored out what the problem is, but I wanted to post everything I know/have done since so I can get some more opinions and insights on the issue.
Around 3-4 months ago I bought a Corsair H100i V2 to cool my CPU. Now my CPU isn't even all that high-end, and I probably went way overkill for getting a new cooler after the stock one stopped working. Then again I do plan to upgrade my CPU to a pretty high-end one pretty soon.
Anyways, back to the cooler. One day my PC wouldn't boot. Started saying something about CPU fan error and then CPU temperature error, where it was getting way too hot. So I worked with it and eventually got it to boot regardless of the fan status. Now my temps would start off around 60 degrees Celsius when booting up,mans as my PC would open processes and programs and what not, that temp would just climb. My PC was hitting like 100 degrees. Obviously that isn't good so I had looked into it, and after a while I had made a self diagnosis that the pump in the cooler was KIA.
So I have already went through Corsair's support and got a return label that I can print, but I wanted to see if maybe the thermal paste had something to do with it. I figured it was a long shot, but I figured it was worth a try. Anyways, after reapplying the thermal paste, the temps didn't seems to climb as high, but still were at like 60 and climbed into the high 70s. So I am going to take the cooler out tomorrow or maybe even tonight, and get ready to send her to Cosair for replacement.
Anyways, what do you guys think? The cooler makes a really loud buzz/hum when the PC boots, but stops once it gets to my desktop and the fans aren't the culprits of the noise, that's for certain. So I am assuming that is then sond of the pump? And a sign its not working?
