Graphics Card in Pci x16 or x16 (x4)

I bought Asus H170 Pro Gaming and Zotac GTX 1060 Amp! Edition as Graphics Card.

Motherboard have

1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16
1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black)
4 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x1

I am confused with x4 mode.

Where i put the graphic card. In first slot or in black slot? which one is faster?

x4 black is used for mult gpu? Please advise

X16 is faster as it has the full 16 PCI-e lanes available

the X16 @x4 slot only has 4 PCI-e lanes available so it can not carry as much information as the full X16 slot.

Put it in the first slot.

The second, black slot is sized like an x16 slot, but it only has the electrical connections of an x4 slot.

The x4 slot can be used for a second graphics card, but SLI requires at least an x8 connection. It would work with two AMD cards though, since Crossfire doesn't have as strict requirements. It would still not perform optimally though.
