Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: Four-Five Months

Budget Range: Around $2000. I haven't really factored monitor(s) into this. I'd love spend less, but still wanted something fairly high end.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming / Streaming / Surfing / Movies

Are you buying a monitor: To be determined. Was really hoping to be able to achieve a 3 monitor set up, but I wasn't sure how feasible this was with my budget.

Parts to Upgrade: I'm building from scratch. I hope this is still the right forum for this. This is what I've put together so far:

I wasn't sure if I'd gone overkill in some areas, or am missing something important. The big questions I had were concerning GPU(s). I was hoping to as mentioned be able to maybe do 3 monitors at 2560 x 1440, but I'm not how much GPU power that would require and if thats within my bugget. I'm open to SLI, though have never messed with it before. I wanted to keep virtual reality an option as well.

Do you need to buy OS: Yes. Was probably just going to buy Windows 10 (home or pro? pro was only like $15 more so I was leaning towards that).

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I've looked mainly at newegg and amazon, but I am open to others as well.

Location: City, State/Region, Country - Pennsylvania, USA. I've been going back and forth across the state a lot due to new job / family, so the whole state is decently accessible.

Parts Preferences: No real preferences.

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Yes, was hoping to keep the option of SLI open.

Your Monitor Resolution: Looked at 4k, but I love multiple monitors way too much and trying to use multiple monitors at 4k I think would either fry my machine or blow my budget. At this point, I was happy with something around 2560x1440, at least 2, REALLY hoping for 3.

Why am I upgrading? I bought an Aleinware MX14 about 5 years ago and its starting to show its age. I was always interested in building my own computer, and told myself I would build myself a gaming rig.

Any help at all is fantastic and I thank you all for any help or advice. If this is in the wrong spot, my apologies.

Solution
No real need to spend that much, on the motherboard. A gaming rig doesn't need 32gb ram either. 16gb is fine. Crucial MX300 is a better drive, for the money spent. A GTX 1080 will run 3x, 1140p, monitors, but I would not expect to be able to game on more than 1, at a time. Prices are going to be quite a bit different, in the coming months.
